He/Him
Jay Brewster brings over 25 years of experience in learning and development, including 7 years dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Residing in Calgary on the traditional lands of Treaty 7 peoples and the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6), he identifies as a cisgender queer man with an invisible disability. Jay’s passion is bridging gaps between people, ideas, and opportunities, particularly for those often underestimated or marginalized.
He aims to use his skills and creativity to build a vibrant, inclusive business community in Alberta, championing equity and supporting gender and sexually diverse individuals in commerce and the workplace. Besides sitting on this Board as a Director, Jay also serves on the Board of Directors for the Get Real Movement, supporting their efforts to combat 2SLGBTQI+ discrimination, racism, and bullying. Having faced personal challenges with self-acceptance, he values creating safe spaces for folks to embrace their authentic selves.
Outside of volunteering, Jay loves spending time with his husband, Ken, and their dog, Stella, indulging in the arts, travelling, and enjoying coffee.
