Dear Members and Friends of the Chamber,
I am pleased to share some important news with you. The Alberta 2SLGBTQIA+ Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce and the Government of Canada for supporting our Chamber and its impactful work through the 2SLGBTQI+ Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Fund. This support is a powerful recognition of the vibrant and diverse entrepreneurial spirit within our community and enables us to continue fostering a thriving ecosystem where 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs can excel.
With this funding, we are set to initiate several key programs that will directly benefit our members. We have a mentorship program forthcoming specifically designed to empower 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and small businesses, providing the guidance and resources necessary for success. Additionally, we are developing a job creation and skill development initiative aimed at connecting new graduates and prospective employees with employers, thereby strengthening and diversifying our workforce.
Our commitment to enhancing connections within our community remains steadfast. To this end, we are revamping our Member-to-Member program to offer even greater support to 2SLGBTQI+ businesses and allies. We will also be organizing regular events that provide opportunities for learning, networking, and growth.
Advocacy continues to be a cornerstone of our mission. We are dedicated to promoting inclusion and diversity across Alberta and to ensuring fair market access for all our members. In particular, we are committed to amplifying the voices of Two-Spirit and Indigenous community members as we work toward a more inclusive and equitable economy.
Our collaboration with the Government of Canada and CGLCC exemplifies the power of partnership in driving meaningful change. Together, we are building an economy that truly includes everyone. We look forward to the positive impact this funding will have on our members and the broader business community as we continue to innovate, inspire, and lead with integrity.
Thank you to all our members, friends and partners for your ongoing support and engagement. It is your dedication that strengthens our Chamber, and we are eager to continue building a brighter future together.
With sincere appreciation,
Moe Yassine
Chair, Alberta 2SLGBTQIA+ Chamber of Commerce
